In Loving Memory of Yoshiko Kataoka
天国にいる (美子)お姉さん。今でも 写真を見るとむねいっぱいになります。いく年もの 思い出 いっぱいありがとう。日本の家族みんないっしょうけんめい頑張っています。 いつまでも 見守ってあげて下さい。
This website is dedicated to the wonderful Yoshiko Kataoaka. Yoshiko, my sister-in-law, made every trip to Japan especially memorable. Yoshiko certainly had her hands full, raising three daughters, working and taking care of her husband Akito (Mie's brother). Whatever the challenge, she was always one the most cheerful and upbeat people I ever met.
In 2011 she took us on a trip to Toei Kyoto Studio Park (東映太秦映画村), where most of these photos are from. We had a great time that day with Yoshiko, and this is a special memory I will treasure forever.
We were so shocked and saddened when we received a phone call early one morning in April, 2013, to learn she had been killed in a automobile accident. Thank you so much Yoshiko for being a part of our lives. いろいろ ありがとう ございます。
MUSIC: My music selection for Yoshiko is the heartfelt "Kingfisher Girl - (Wish You Were Here)" by Maaya Sakamoto (坂本真綾). Yoshiko: we wish you were here with us now. We will never forget you.
